Privacy policy
1. Zero cookies and absence of tracking technologies
MioAtlas (mioatlas.com) is built as a strictly static web resource. We use neither first-party nor third-party cookies, tracking pixels, persistent advertising storage, nor browser fingerprinting mechanisms.
No cookie consent banner is presented because zero tracking identifiers or persistent storage cookies are stored on your device when navigating our pages.
2. Cookieless web analytics and metrics
We use a self-hosted, privacy-first analytics solution (Umami). We only collect aggregated and anonymous event data: page views, clicks on interactive features, runtime errors, and performance metrics. We do not use cookies, persistent identifiers, browser storage (no localStorage, sessionStorage, or IndexedDB), or device fingerprinting techniques.
The data controller is the owner of this site. Data is never sold, shared, or transferred to third parties. The legal basis is legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) to monitor system stability, optimize usability, and enhance educational tools. Aggregated data is retained for a maximum of 25 months.
If a search query yields zero results, the search term may be recorded in lowercase (truncated to a maximum of 40 characters) exclusively to identify missing medical topics and guide content development.
How to opt out: We honor the 'Do Not Track' (DNT) signal in your browser settings. Additionally, if you wish to disable telemetry on this browser, you can open your browser developer console (press F12 or right-click > Inspect > Console) and run: localStorage.setItem('umami.disabled', '1'). This command only stores a technical opt-out flag.
3. Simulator state and privacy
The interactive simulator at mioatlas.com/simulador/ operates entirely client-side within your browser. Visual configurations, arrhythmias, and arterial stenoses are encoded solely within URL parameters (query string or hash).
The simulator transmits none of your clinical choices or exploration paths to any external server.
4. Processing of voluntary contact data
The only personal information we may process is your email address and any details you elect to provide if you reach out voluntarily to submit technical inquiries, errata, or suggestions.
Such correspondence is processed exclusively to address your inquiry and will never be shared with third parties, commercialized, or added to advertising or marketing distribution lists.
5. Exercise of rights (GDPR)
In compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable data protection legislation, you retain rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, and data portability regarding any correspondence provided.
To exercise any of these statutory rights, please send an email confirming your identity to:
